Starting with a summary of common business structures, Chris will focus on the options available to partners in a firm and shareholders in a company. He will highlight how succession planning is interlinked with the law of succession. Through the use of examples, he will demonstrate the pitfalls and offer possible solutions.

One of the leaders in rural law in Perthshire and Angus, Chris is ranked highly in his field by the independent legal directories Chambers and Partners and the Legal 500. He is also recognised by the Law Society of Scotland as an accredited specialist in Agricultural Law.
He advises client in rural property law including buying, selling and leasing all types of rural property, farming partnerships, as well as Wills and succession planning. He provides specialist advice in relation to agricultural tenancies, renewable energy projects, servitudes and sporting rights.
He adopts a no nonsense approach to resolving problems and achieving clients’ goals. Chris advises public and private sector clients and banks on a wide range of issues focussed on the rural sector. He heads up the group dealing with agricultural security work.
